How This WinShark Site Treats Your Data

Short version: it barely touches it. There is no analytics script on these pages, no advertising pixel, no mailing list and no cookie banner, because there are no cookies to ask you about. What follows is the long version, which is still short.

What This WinShark Site Collects When You Read It

A web server cannot hand you a page without briefly knowing where to send it. That is the whole of the collection here. When one of these pages loads, the hosting layer writes an ordinary access log line, and that line is the entirety of what exists about your visit.

Everything a visit to this WinShark site puts in a log, and why
RecordedWhy it is thereHow long it stays
IP addressThe address the page is returned to. Also what lets the host throttle somebody hammering the server.Purged on the host's rolling schedule, typically within 30 days
Timestamp and the path you asked forSo a broken link or a page that stopped loading can be traced.Same rolling purge
Browser and operating system stringSent by your browser automatically. Useful for noticing a layout that has broken on one platform.Same rolling purge
Referring page, if your browser sends oneAlso automatic. Nothing here acts on it.Same rolling purge

Nothing in that table is combined with anything else, profiled, enriched, sold, or kept past the purge. There is no database of readers on this site because there is nothing to put in one.

What This WinShark Site Deliberately Does Not Do

  • No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no privacy-friendly alternative either. Nobody here knows how many people read any of this.
  • No advertising or remarketing pixels. You will not start seeing shark-themed banners elsewhere because you read this page.
  • No cookies, so no cookie banner. The pages set none. The one piece of script on each page fills in the current month and opens the FAQ panels; it stores nothing.
  • No forms. There is no sign-up box, no newsletter, no comment field and no contact form, which means there is no mechanism by which this site could learn your name or email even if it wanted to.
  • No fingerprinting. Nothing here measures your fonts, canvas, screen or audio stack to recognise you later.
The WinShark Casino login form Canadian players see on the operator's own site
This is WinShark's log-in panel, not ours. Any email address or password you type goes to WinShark under WinShark's own privacy policy, which is a separate document from this one and governed by Curaçao law rather than Canadian law. Nothing you enter there passes through this site.

Where a WinShark Link Takes Your Data Instead

Every button on this site marked Visit WinShark or similar sends you through a redirect on this domain and then out to the operator. Two things happen at that point, and they are worth separating.

The redirect itself writes the same ordinary log line described above. After it, you are on winshark.com, and you are subject to WinShark's privacy policy, WinShark's cookies and WinShark's data handling, which this site neither controls nor can see into. If you then open an account, every detail you give — email, password, identity documents, payment credentials — goes to GBL Solutions N.V. and its Cyprus payment agent. None of it reaches us. We never learn that a particular reader became a particular player; what comes back from an affiliate programme is a count, not a person.

Read WinShark's own policy before you register. That is a sentence worth taking literally rather than scrolling past, because it is a genuinely different document from this one and it covers far more of your information.

Your Rights Under Canadian Privacy Law

Canada's federal private-sector privacy statute, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, gives you a right of access to personal information an organisation holds about you, a right to ask that it be corrected, and a route to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Several provinces run substantially similar regimes of their own — Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta among them.

Applied here, those rights have an unusually short answer. Ask what we hold about you and the honest reply is a log entry containing an IP address that has probably already been purged, and which we have no way of tying to your name in the first place. There is no account to delete and no profile to export. If you would like that confirmed in writing anyway, the request is reasonable and we will answer it.

Hosting, Security and the Limits of Both

These pages are static files served over HTTPS. There is no login, no payment processing and no user-supplied content on this domain, which removes most of the ways a site like this one could leak something. The hosting provider and the network in front of it operate their own logging and abuse controls, which sit outside our reach — that is the ordinary trade of using infrastructure rather than running a rack yourself.

No site can promise that a transmission over the public internet is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can say is that the quantity of information at stake here is close to nil, by design rather than by accident.

Children and This WinShark Site

Gambling content is for adults. The minimum age is 19 across most of Canada and 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec, and nothing on this site is aimed at anyone below that line. We do not knowingly record anything from a minor, and there is no mechanism here that could collect identifying information from one. If you look after a young person who has reached this page, device-level blocking is covered on our responsible gambling page.

Changes to This WinShark Privacy Statement

If the way this site operates ever changes — if a form appears, or a measurement script is added — this page gets rewritten before that happens, not afterwards, and the date in the footer moves. There is no mailing list to notify, which is rather the point.
